Putnam County Savings Bank has new name after 144 years
Six months after its entry into the Westchester market, Putnam County Savings Bank has undergone a change of name after more than 140 years in business.
Bank officials in Brewster today announced the regional bank now operates as PCSB Bank to reflect its expansion into Westchester this year.
In April, the company wrapped up its $25.4 million acquisition of CBS Bancorp Inc., the White Plains holding company for CMS Bank. CMS at the time of the deal had five branch offices in Westchester.
PCSB operates 15 banking centers, including eight branches in Westchester County and others in Putnam, Rockland and Dutchess counties.
The renamed bank has a logo with the tagline, “True Local. True Banking.” PCSB officials said the marketing slogan “exemplifies the bank”™s commitment to understanding local communities and providing individualized service.”
Putnam County Savings Bank was established in 1871. “The name may be different and the footprint larger, but our core values and service remain the same,” Joseph D. Roberto, chairman, president and CEO of PCSB Bank, said.
The bank is relocating its headquarters this fall from Brewster to Yorktown, where it signed a long-term lease for approximately 25,000 square feet of office space in GHP Office Realty”™s Northern Westchester Executive Park.
The bank as of March 31 reported $997.5 million in total assets, $854.9 million in deposits and $113 million in stockholders’ equity.
