The dividend is payable on Dec. 2 to shareholders of record on Nov. 18, 2008. The company declared a quarterly cash dividend of $1.21875 per share on its 4.875 percent cumulative convertible perpetual preference shares, payable on Dec. 1 to shareholders of record on Nov. 15, Â 2008. The company also declared a quarterly cash dividend of $12.8125 per share on its 5.125 percent cumulative mandatory convertible preference shares, payable on Dec. 1 to shareholders of record on Nov. 15, 2008.
The Council of Better Business Bureaus (BBB) announced that White Plains-based The Dannon Co. has become the 15th company to join the Children”™s Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative. BBB also announced approval of Dannon”™s pledge, which includes a commitment that 100 percent of TV, radio, print and Internet advertising directed primarily to children under 12 will be for products that meet nutritional guidelines. As the newest member of the Initiative, Dannon joins a group that includes 14 other global food and beverage manufacturers and restaurateurs. The Initiative is designed to shift the mix of advertising messaging directed at children to encourage healthier dietary choices and healthy lifestyles.
