First Niagara to open regional HQ in Tarrytown

First Niagara Bank on Wednesday announced it will relocate its tri-state regional headquarters from downtown Nyack to Tarrytown later this year.

The Buffalo-based bank has leased 30,000 square foot of second-floor space at 520 White Plains Road, where it plans to move approximately 75 employees from its 17 S. Broadway office in Nyack. A bank spokesperson said the move is targeted for the end of this year after a build-out of the space. The Tarrytown property is owned and managed by the Reckson division of SL Green Realty Corp.

“This market is extremely important to our commercial business expansion plans, and we look forward to serving the tri-state business community from such a prime location,” Cathie Schaffer, regional president of First Niagara”™s tri-state region, said in a press release.

First Niagara has about 300 employees in a region that includes the lower Hudson Valley, Fairfield County, Conn., and northern New Jersey. A second regional office is in Norwalk, Conn. The bank has 26 branches in the Hudson Valley, including five in the Westchester communities of Baldwin Place, Bedford Hills, Mount Kisco, Ossining and Yorktown Heights.

Ciminelli Real Estate Corp.,  and Rick Rakow, of Rakow Commercial Realty Group, represented First Niagara Bank in the deal.
