First County’s Zamary heads mortgage association

David Zamary, senior vice president for residential lending at Stamford-based First County Bank, was installed Oct. 16 as president of Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association Inc.

Zamary was acting president since early in the year.

“As president of Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association Inc., I hope to promote homeownership, as well as to help build and support participation in the housing market,” Zamary said in a statement. “I also will continue to support the many educational seminars offered by CMBA. I want to make a difference throughout Connecticut to increase homeownership.”

Zamary has more than 30 years”™ experience in mortgage finance. He manages the residential lending department at First County Bank.

Zamary graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Fairfield University and earned his MBA from the University of New Haven.

First County Bank is more than 160 years old. It is an independent mutual community bank with 15 branches in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk and Westport.
