Rep. Pat Ryan announced that he secured federal funding for safety improvement projects at Hudson Valley Regional Airport in Poughkeepsie Orange County Airport in Montgomery.

Hudson Valley Regional Airport will receive $1.38 million to rehabilitate its taxiway, modernize its guidance and lighting systems, and acquire snow removal equipment. Orange County Airport will receive $3.36 million to overhaul the apron where aircraft are parked, unloaded, loaded, refueled and boarded by passengers.

“I”™m proud to secure these crucial funds that will cut down on wait times, keep the Hudson Valley at the forefront of aviation technology, and create good-paying construction jobs along the way,” said Ryan, a Democrat who represents New York”™s 18th Congressional District. “Our local airports should continue to be the gold standard for flight safety and efficiency, and I”™m working to deliver that first-in-class service for Hudson Valley families.”

Ryan serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which oversees the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The grants awarded to Hudson Valley Regional Airport and Orange County Airport come from the FAA”™s Airport Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 2023.
