Teen photographer Max Saperstein’s work on display at Westport Book Shop

The Westport Book Shop will be presenting the work of teenage photographer Max Saperstein during August at the venue”™s Drew Friedman Art Place.

Saperstein is a junior at Staples High School, where he is the photography director of Inklings, the school newspaper. He is a second-place winner of the Westport PTA”™s 2023 Reflections Art Contest, and received special recognition in the Congressional Institute”™s 2023 Congressional Art Competition.

Saperstein stated he intended to use his proceeds from any gallery sales to support a philanthropic photography project called “Max”™s Magic,” where he takes portraits of children who are facing challenging situations and uses Photoshop to transform them into images of superheroes or sports stars or however the child would like to see themselves.

The exhibit runs through Aug. 31 at Westport Book Shop, located at 23 Jesup Road, right across Jesup Green from the Westport Library.
