TEA Talk returns to Westport Library after two-year hiatus

The Westport Library will host its first in-person TEA Talk on Nov. 6, after a two-year hiatus.

TEA stands for “Thinkers, Educators, Artists” and this year”™s event focuses on the theme of “Creativity Unleashed.” Three panels of two artists each will consider the impact of the past few years on creativity and consumption of the arts in three disciplines: film, music, and visual art.

The TEA Talk panels will include:

”¢ Westport textile and fashion designer Shobana Mani in conversation with Oscar-nominated New York City filmmaker Kevin Wilson Jr., whose documentary “Untold: The Rise & Fall of AND1” was just released on Netflix;
Ӣ Dr. Richard Epstein (Westport musician, dentist, and WPKN radio host) speaking with Emmy Award-winning composer, music supervisor, and pianist Michael Whalen; and
”¢ Westport 2013 Teacher of the year Cecily Anderson in a discussion on the state of the “arts” with Westport artist Tom Berntsen and Norwalk street-muralist 5ive Fingaz.

Musical selections from guest Heshima Moja, international bassist, vocalist and composer, will round out the program.

The TEA Talk is presented by the Westport Arts Advisory Committee and will be free to the public, although advanced registration is requested on the Westport Library website.
