New Canaan”™s Silvermine Arts Center has established a Fulbright residency program, with Montenegro-based sculptor Ivana Radovanovich as its first artist in residence.

The Silvermine Fulbright residency will run for two weeks in January and June and will be managed by the International Institute of Education (IIE). Current foreign Fulbright grantees and Fulbright Visiting Scholars will be eligible to participate in the program, which will include having a Silvermine faculty member serving as their mentor. Artist Janet Hennessey Dilenschneider and her husband, business executive Robert Dilenschneider, initiated and funded the residency program.

“Silvermine is honored to welcome Ivana Radovanovich and we look forward to hosting IIE scholars on our campus to further their artistic excellence and foster cultural exchange,” said Rose-Marie Fox, board chairwoman of the Silvermine Arts Center. “Being part of the Fulbright Program is consistent with Silvermine’s vision to champion art as the vehicle to create cultural bridges of understanding throughout the world.”
