September is Library Card Sign-Up Month at New Rochelle Public Library

All month long the New Rochelle Public Library (NRPL) is inviting residents to sign up for library cards and discover the benefits of membership far beyond access to books and media.

“Curious about exploring a new hobby or learning a new language?” the library asks in a press release. “Interested in starting or growing a small business, learning Qi Gong, or joining a singing group? NRPL has the resources you need. Did you know that experienced sewists can drop into the Library on Wednesdays, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm to use our state-of-the-art Necchi sewing machines? Don’t know how to sew? We offer beginner sewing classes as well! There’s truly something for everyone at NRPL.”

Additional services include the Museum Pass Program which provides free access to prominent area museums, free use of Mango language training software for more than 70 languages, test prep tools, and bookable meeting spaces.

“A library card may just be the most powerful card in your wallet,” said Kira Aiello, Head of Adult Services at New Rochelle Public Library. “From borrowing books and e-books to enjoying free concerts, movies, workshops, and our museum pass program, the benefits go far beyond what you’d expect. The savings and experiences it offers can easily add up to hundreds of dollars each year.”
