Norwalk’s Galerie Sono has announced plans to open Sono Paris, a gallery in the heart of Paris.

“The gallery will be located at 91 Rue Saint-Honoré, one of the most prestigious luxury retail locations in the city, just a block away from the Louvre,” the gallery posted on its Facebook page, adding, “Details soon!”

Galerie Sono was founded in 1999 and is based within a 6,000-square-foot space at 123 Washington St. in Norwalk”™s SoNo district. In a March 2018 interview with the Fairfield County Business Journal, Galerie Sono”™s president Claude Villani described his exhibitions as being regionally-exclusive offerings catering to a deep-pocketed buying audience.

“To be in this gallery requires being in similar galleries across the country and world, and in museums,” he said. “We don”™t do much with local artists. Not that we don”™t support local artists, but we are collector-driven and they want artists who are investment-ready.”
