New art exploration program for children with autism

New Haven’s Yale Center for British Art is offering Exploring Artism, a free program for children between 5 and 12 years of age who are on the autism spectrum.

The program provides instruction in social skills and learning ways to sustain attention and focus by exploring works of art and trying no-fail follow up-activities. A quiet space with sensory toys is available.

This program will take place at the Courtland S. Wilson Library’s Commnity Program Room at 303 Washington Ave. in New Haven on the Saturdays of Jan. 13, Jan. 27, Feb. 10, Feb. 24, March 9, March 23, April 13, April 27, May 11, and May 18. Free parking is available. Registration is required by emailing ycba.education@yale.edu with your name, contact information, the number of adults and children in your group, and the desired date(s) of attendance.
