Manhunt on for Willie Nelson’s armadillo

Musician Willie Nelson has taken to his Facebook page asking for the safe return of a stuffed armadillo that was kidnapped from the stage after his band”™s Sept. 19 show at Port Chester”™s Capitol Theatre.

The armadillo is Nelson and his band’s unofficial mascot, owned by sound engineer Aaron Foye, and is regularly displayed on stage during concerts, according to USA Today.

A video posted on the Facebook page Monday, apparently from Capitol surveillance cameras after the concert, showed a woman carrying a bag walk on stage and take the armadillo. “Help us find the WOMAN in this video who stole him,” the post says.

Nelson”™s fans offered support to the group in their time of worry while lashing out at the culprit in hundreds of Facebook comments. “That is lower than low to take a man”™s armadillo,” said one poster. “We hang armadillo thieves in Texas,” said another.
