Hudson River Museum to unveil its new West Wing
The Hudson River Museum in Yonkers announced the upcoming opening of its new West Wing.
The new wing was designed by the architecture film Archimuse and expands the museum’s total size by more than 12,000 square feet, including more than 3,000 square feet of exhibition galleries and views of the Hudson River and Palisades. The inaugural exhibitions at the museum will include an installation by Japanese contemporary artist Kengo Kito ”“ who transformed nearly 2,500 colorful hula hoops into a site specific artwork symbolizing humanity’s interconnectedness and our relationship to the Hudson River ”“ and a 14-panel panoramic painting from the museum”™s collection by the late Welsh-American painter Sylvia Sleigh.
A members”™ opening reception for the West Wing is scheduled for June 15 at 7:00 p.m. and the public opening is slated for June 16 at 12:00 p.m.
