Business Journal reporter reveals his status as a movie super fan
Hollywood is gearing up for awards season as the new year approaches. One movie fan who’d make a worthy judge or film critic is Sam Barron, reporter for the Westchester County Business Journal.
Barron has been establishing his movie credentials over the past four years by seeing some 1,300 films in regional theaters during that time. Recently, The New York Times wrote about his exploits as a super movie fan.
For the new year, Barron intends to kick his movie-a-day habit, but wants to end his streak strong by hopefully seeing “Texas Chainsaw 3D” Jan. 4, 2013. Local theaters, however, may remember him in the upcoming year, as he confessed in The New York Times article to sneaking into multiple cinema screenings.
Barron said he’s proud of him film record, and stands by the methods he used to accomplish his feat of seeing so many flicks. In the end, Barron said, film fans like him are good for the movie business.
