Art$WChallenge to offer $500K in matching grant money to Westchester arts groups
The Art$WChallenge, a public/private partnership between ArtsWestchester, Westchester County Executive George Latimer and the Westchester County Board of Legislators, is making approximately $500,000 in matching grant money available to arts and cultural groups in Westchester County.
From now through Dec. 31, new or increased donations made by individuals or businesses to any of the over 140 eligible Westchester arts groups will be matched by ArtsWestchester with support from Westchester County Government. Local arts organizations are eligible for between $1,500 to $8,500 in matching funds based on their ability to raise private monies before the year’s end.
Last year, Westchester County arts organizations raised $786,541 in new, private donations that were matched by $501,000 in support from the county.
“Now more than ever, the arts in this county need your support as they build back cultural programs and services from the pandemic,” said ArtsWestchester CEO Janet T. Langsam. “Our need for the healing and unifying power of the arts has never been more apparent. Now through year-end, the Art$WChallenge program provides people the chance to double the positive impact on arts and culture in Westchester with each tax-deductible gift to participating arts groups.”
