The Reader’s Digest Association, formerly based in Chappaqua, announced this week it has changed its name to Trusted Media Brands, Inc.
Trusted Media Brands, Inc. now includes Reader’s Digest, Taste of Home, Simple & Delicious, The Family Handyman, Country, Country Woman, Birds & Blooms, Farm & Ranch Living, Reminisce, EnrichU, The Taste Network and Haven Home Media.
Trusted Media Brands President and CEO Bonnie Kintzer, who took over Reader’s Digest in April 2014, said the new brand reflects the changing image of a company previously known primarily for its print publications.
“The company has undergone a complete turnaround and transformation over the past 24 months. We’ve changed our business model to connect with consumers across all brands and through a variety of channels where readers want to engage,” Kintzer said. “As we head toward our century milestone, it’s appropriate that our new company name reflects the culmination of those changes and the entity we have become ”” a modern, visionary, brand-driven multiplatform media business.”
Founded in 1922, Reader’s Digest operated out of a headquarters in Chappaqua from 1939 to 2009. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2009 and subsequently moved its headquarters to Manhattan.
Trusted Media Brands on Monday also launched a new website, tmbi.com.
