Metro-North Railroad’s New Canaan Branch is fully operational as of this morning, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said.
The New Canaan Branch, which serves more than 2,000 commuters daily, had been replaced by bus service since Hurricane Sandy slammed the East Coast.
In the two weeks since the storm hit, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, of which Metro-North is a subsidiary, has supervised extensive repairs to overhead wires, signaling systems and tracks on all of its rail lines.
