Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. in White Plains and its partners will invest more than $4 billion in 50 new hotel openings on four continents for its Sheraton Hotels & Resorts brand. The strategic expansion will add more than 20,000 rooms to the Sheraton brand over the next three years.
Beginning this year, Sheraton will open hotels in 15 countries, including the U.S., Colombia, India, Russia, Slovakia, Taiwan and Vietnam. Sheraton, already the largest international upper-upscale hotel brand in China, will nearly double its footprint there with 28 new hotels.
The brand also will add 10 resorts to its portfolio and expand its footprint in New York City with new properties in Brooklyn and Manhattan”™s Tribeca neighborhood. Sheraton also plans to open several new convention hotels.
