SUMMARY:First County Bank Maple Sugar Fest Sundays
LOCATION:
DESCRIPTION: Maple sugaring season returns to the Stamford Museum & Nature Center with the First County Bank Maple Sugar Fest Sundays, taking place March 1, 8 and 15. Visitors of all ages are invited to experience the sights, flavors and traditions of this annually anticipated late-winter celebration. Festival grounds open each Sunday at 10 am with expanded attractions, enhanced programming and family-friendly activities running through 2 pm. Standard admission rates apply after 2 pm. Advance registration is encouraged at www.stamfordmuseum.org/fcbfest. Presented each year by First County Bank, the SM&NC’s Maple Sugar Fest Sundays bring New England’s sweetest tradition to life with maple sugaring demonstrations, tree tapping insights, Lego building, face painting, live farm animal encounters and free popcorn. Guests can also enjoy the sock skating rink, children’s games, food trucks and a pop-up Farm Market featuring the SM&NC’s own maple syrup and specialty items. New this year, visitors can enjoy planetarium shows inside the Museum & Nature Center’s recently opened Planetarium & Astronomy Center, adding an immersive cosmic experience to the day’s festivities. Each Sunday will also feature Frozen on the Farm, offering families a chance to meet Olaf, Elsa and Anna, along with a return appearance by the always popular Tea-Cup Piggies. “Community is at the heart of everything we do. Supporting the Stamford Museum & Nature Center and cherished traditions like Maple Sugar Fest Sundays reflects First County Bank’s ongoing commitment to creating vibrant, educational experiences for our neighbors,” said Robert Granata, Chairman & CEO of First County Bank. “Our three First County Bank Maple Sugar Fest Sundays celebrate both heritage and hands-on discovery,” said Melissa H. Mulrooney, CEO of the Stamford Museum & Nature Center. “Few places offer the ability to explore a working Sugar House, engage with the natural environment and enjoy a full day of family programming in one setting. As one of only two official maple syrup producers in Fairfield County, this remains a uniquely immersive experience.” Admission for each Sunday is capacity-controlled, and guests are strongly encouraged to pre-register to guarantee entry and receive discounted pricing. Attendees who register in advance save $5 per ticket, with admission priced at $15 per person for Members and $25 per person for Non-Members. Children ages 2 and under attend free. Tickets purchased on the day of the event are available as capacity permits at $20 per person for Members and $30 per person for Non-Members, with free admission for children ages 2 and under. All fests will be held rain or shine. Getting There Parking for Fest Sundays is available at the SM&NC’s upper Farmhouse & Astronomy Center entrance at 151 Scofieldtown Road, located one quarter mile north of the 39 Scofieldtown Road entrance.
