DESCRIPTION: The first-ever Westchester Book Festival, a celebration for book lovers and creators, will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Katonah, NY with the goal of engaging readers of all ages, bringing attention to the importance of literacy and strengthening local libraries. The festival will be held at the Katonah Village Library and throughout the charming village. Initiated by a group of local publishing professionals, editors, agents and book lovers, the festival’s mission is to bring readers face-to-face with exceptional authors, spark dialogue across genres, and honor Westchester’s rich literary legacy—from John Jay to John Cheever and beyond. All proceeds from ticket sales will directly benefit the Katonah Village Library, Bedford Free Library, and Bedford Hills Library. Author Highlights Among the featured speakers are bestselling and award-winning authors: Geraldine Brooks (Memorial Days, Horse, March, Year of Wonders) David Grann (The Wager, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Lost City of Z Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah (Chain Gang All-Stars, Friday Black Bill McKibben (Here Comes the Sun, The End of Nature) Patrick Radden Keefe (Rogues, Empire of Pain, Say Nothing) Emma Straub (This Time Tomorrow, All Adults Here, Modern Lovers) David Wallace-Wells (The Uninhabitable Earth, New York Times journalist) In addition, the festival has organized an Authors’ Corner event where acclaimed writers and local voices—including Lauren Acampora, Fiona Davis, Sam Hollander, Ann Leary, Greg Wands, and more—will host signings, readings, and conversations at the Katonah Reading Room from 10 am to 4 pm in a more casual meet and greet type atmosphere. \"The Katonah Reading Room is thrilled to be a part of this inaugural event, pairing all of the things we love...books, authors, discussion, and community,” says owner Gretchen Menzies. “We can\'t wait to invite you to our Authors’ Corner events all day long...pop by for a chat with an author, grab a signed book, or just enjoy this community of bookish folks both in our bookstore/coffee shop and all around town.\" Festival Experience & Schedule • Panel Talks & Keynotes – Esteemed authors and publishing professionals will present engaging conversations at the Katonah Village Library. Tickets are required for these sessions. • Gallery Talks – Sessions on How to Produce an Audiobook and Creating Children’s Books will be held downtown at Oak and Oil and Choma galleries. Tickets are required for these sessions. • Authors’ Corner – Will feature casual meet‑and‑greet and signings with local and regional writers at Katonah Reading Room, free and open to the public, 10 am–4 pm. • Book Sales – On-site purchases will be available, made possible by Katonah Reading Room plus a special pop‑up sale throughout the day at their store located at 19 Edgemont Rd. • Tickets – General admission for library events will require tickets, which are $20/ session — and $10/live-stream (onsight) sessions Buy tickets at www.westchesterbookfest.org.
