DESCRIPTION: KAPOW! The Picture House is inviting middle and high school students to unleash their creativity in a five-week introductory Comic Book Bootcamp. Participants will learn how to design characters, build worlds, write compelling stories, and publish their own comic book - no prior drawing or writing experience required! Led by Bronxville native and professional comic book writer Todd Matthy (Robots vs. Princesses, Odyssey: New Dawn), this hands-on course covers every step of the creative process, guiding students from blank page to finished panels. Additional classes: Wednesdays, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM October 8, 15, 22, 29, and November 5 Cost: $250 / $200 for members About the Instructor: Todd Matthy is the writer and creator of Robots vs. Princesses for Dynamite Comics and the current writer of Odyssey: New Dawn from TidalWave Comics. His work spans multiple publishers, including Toybox Guardians (Antarctic Press), Serpiente: El Cielo (Ethos Comics), and musical biographies for Black Sabbath, Foo Fighters, and Rush. A graduate of Bronxville High School, Matthy also writes Tales from the Aurora on Webtoon.
