SUMMARY:RXR and The Lincoln Park Conservancy to host Juneteenth Plaza Celebration
LOCATION:
DESCRIPTION: RXR and The Lincoln Park Conservancy (TLPC) will hold a community celebration on July 12 from 12:00-3:00 PM to celebrate Juneteenth. The free public event, part of TLPC’s 5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration titled “Restoring Our History”, is one of several taking place throughout New Rochelle during June. The Clinton Plaza celebration will feature food trucks, exhibits, vendors, shows and games for all ages. Refreshments and food will be provided by Grow! Eat Pop-up Vegetable Market & Truck, Sweet Spice Caribbean food truck, and Casaroma Cafe. Activities such as Yoga by Liza Tuck, face painting by Miguel Cossio, and a flower arrangement workshop by Petals and Bloom will be available at the event. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to take part in a guided walkthrough of “History Restored: Black Entrepreneurship”, an exhibit by the Lincoln Park Conservancy, featuring historic photographs and narratives that highlight the legacy of Black entrepreneurs and businesses. Curated by Linda Tarrant-Reid, the exhibit uses photographs from a variety of digital archives along with Tarrant-Reid’s own work to tell the stories of Black-owned businesses in New Rochelle’s Lincoln Corridor and across the United States. https://westfaironline.com/eventer/rxr-and-the-lincoln-park-conservancy-to-host-juneteenth-plaza-celebration/
