Two new corporate tenants will move into The Summit office complex in Valhalla this year after signing leases totaling about 81,000 square feet of space.
The deals were announced by The Summit’s landlord, Reckson, the suburban division of SL Green Realty Corp. in New York City.
Ascensia Diabetes Care US Inc., a global diabetes health management company, has signed an 11-year lease for 65,000 square feet of space at 100 Summit Lake Drive, one of three buildings in the 700,000-square-foot Class A office complex.
Ascensia in the fourth quarter will relocate 80 employees from its research and development and operations facility at 777 Old Saw Mill River Road in Tarrytown, a former office of Bayer Diabetes Care. Headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, Ascensia was established in 2016 when Panasonic Healthcare Holdings acquired Bayer Diabetes Care.
Reckson said Exelon Generation Co., an American Fortune 100 energy company, inked a 16,442-square-foot lease for first-floor space at 500 Summit Lake Drive and is expected to occupy the office in July.
Ascensia was represented in lease negotiations by brokers Steven Rotter and Conor Gill, of Jones Lang LaSalle’s New York City and Stamford offices. Reckson was represented in-house on both deals, while SL Green was represented by Brian Carcaterra and Jacqueline Novotny, of the CBRE office in Stamford.
John Barnes, senior vice president at SL Green and managing director of its Reckson division, said The Summit is now home to four Fortune 500 companies and is 93 percent leased.
