Former FEMA official named CEO at Keep America Beautiful

Helen Lowman replaces Jennifer Jehn at the Stamford-based CEO.

The Stamford-based nonprofit Keep America Beautiful has named Helen Lowman as its new CEO. She replaces Jennifer Jehn, who resigned in October to become executive director of the Miami Dolphins Foundation.

Lowman was previously the director of individual and comment preparedness at the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Prior to that, she held senior positions in the Peace Corps as regional director for Europe, the Mediterranean and Asia and as associate director for volunteer recruitment and selection. Before working in the federal government, she was vice president of intercultural education and quality at AFS-USA Inc.

Earlier in her career, Lowman served on the board of directors of two Keep America Beautiful affiliates: Keep Austin Beautiful and Keep El Paso Beautiful. In addition to her new CEO role, she is pursuing her Ph.D. at Antioch University’s Graduate School of Leadership and Change.
