Single-family home sales in Connecticut experienced a 14.2 percent year-over-year spike in January, according to data released by Connecticut Realtors. There were 2,307 homes sold last month, compared with 2,020 in January 2016.
The state’s townhouse and condominium market also enjoyed healthy sales activity in January with a 23.7 percent year-over-year increase. There were 579 sold last month compared with 468 sold one year earlier.
The single-family residential home median sales price in Connecticut for January was $235,000, a 2.2 percent increase from the $230,000 level reached in January 2016. The median sales price for townhouses and condominiums last month was $155,000, up 4.4 percent from $148,500 in January 2016.
