Abbey Road Advisors L.L.C., a private real estate investment firm based in Fairfield, announced that 33 Riverside Ave. in Westport, a 42,000-square-foot professional office building, is now fully leased.
Ridgebury Tankers, a shipping company founded in April 2013, has leased 3,772 square feet for five years on the third floor of the building.
Abbey Road Advisors is the landlord.
In negotiating the deal, Steve Baker and Torey Walsh of Cushman & Wakefield were the brokers for Abbey Road Advisors and Brett Sherman of Angel Commercial was the broker for Ridgebury Tankers.
“We selected this site because we like the water and we’re able to walk to the center of town,” Robert P. Burke, Ridgebury Tankers’ CEO, said. “This professional office building gives us room to grow and the location is central for all of us. There are quite a number of shipping companies located in Connecticut.”
Ridgebury Tankers is focused on the acquisition and operation of modern vessels in the tanker sector, especially those designed to carry medium-range refined products and so-called Suezmax crude. Ridgebury Tankers is backed by Riverstone Holdings L.L.C., a New York City-based private equity firm with extensive investments in the energy industry. Ridgebury Tankers possesses experience in tanker operations, chartering, structured finance, ownership and operational management across several shipping sectors.
