‘Boots to business’ to help veteran entrepreneurs

Several Connecticut business development groups are hosting a workshop for military veterans about how to start their own businesses.

SCORE Fairfield County, the University of Connecticut School of Business and the Walmart Foundation will sponsor the two-day program. Veterans will learn how military experience does and doesn’t relate to being an entrepreneur, business plans, strategic and tactical marketing, financial planning and how to secure funding.

The event, Operation Boots to Business, will be held at the Hartford UConn campus March 9 and March 16. Admission is free.
