The Montfort Academy, a private, Roman Catholic high school in Katonah, is relocating to Mount Vernon.

School officials recently announced plans to move from the school’s current home at 99 Valley Road in Katonah to Fleetwood in Mount Vernon. Montfort reached an agreement with the parish of Saints Peter & Paul in Mount Vernon, and classes are scheduled to begin in the new location in September 2013.

Richard Greco, chairman of Montfort, said the school’s relocation “from northern Westchester to southern Westchester will allow Montfort to reach a more numerous and diverse prospective student body. Relocating will also allow more students to take advantage of Montfort’s affordable, classical Catholic education.”

Montfort will hold open house events Feb. 9, Feb. 11 and Feb. 12 for prospective families. The open house events will be held at Saints Peter & Paul Church at 129 E. Birch St. in Mount Vernon.
