Connecticut has made available $3 million in new energy efficiency incentives for residents and businesses that have incurred energy-related reconstruction costs as a result of Hurricane Sandy, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said Nov. 13.
Businesses and individuals who replace storm-damaged equipment — such as furnaces, boilers, hot water heaters and refrigerators — with more energy-efficient models between Oct. 29 and Dec. 31 will be eligible for incentives dollars, which would come in the form of rebates, according to a statement released by the governor’s office.
The $3 million in incentives will be financed largely through funds made available through the settlement agreement stemming from the Northeast Utilities-NStar merger.
Anyone seeking information about the incentives or financing options available for replacing or repairing equipment is asked to call the state energy information hotline at 1-877-947-3873.
