A private equity company is acquiring Parfums de Coeur Ltd., which calls itself the largest provider of mass-market fragrances with brands including Body Fantasies, Designer Imposters, and BOD Man.

Yellow Wood Partners L.L.C. did not say what it paid for Darien-based Parfums de Coeur, which was founded in 1981 and whose management also reinvested in the company.

It was the first announced acquisition from Yellow Wood’s $225 million debut fund, with the company’s cofounders including Peter Mann, the former CEO of Prestige Brands Holdings Inc. of Irvington, N.Y., and other former executives there. Yellow Wood has offices in Irvington and Boston.
