Sept. 10, Yonkers Mayor Philip A. Amicone, Arthur Collins, co-founding principal of Collins Enterprises L.L.C. and city officials saw a multistory Old Glory at her finest, emerging from a plastic tarp red, white and blue to signify, as she has always done, something worth a long look and even a bit of wonderment. The vertical phase of a linchpin in city development was over.
The American flag was unveiled from the tower of Hudson Park North; celebrating the second of two luxury apartment buildings that are being developed along the Hudson River by Collins Enterprises.
The gathering came with the “topping out” of the new $125 million apartment complex. The project, which is expected to be completed and ready for occupancy next spring, has already gathered interest.
“There”™s a long list of people who are interested in buying,” Collins said. “But we can”™t sell (the apartments) for a few years, so for now, they”™re just going to be rentals.”
Monthly rents will range from $1,850 to $2,300 for one-bedroom apartments and $2,530 to $3,600 for two-bedroom units. The twin waterfront buildings will feature 294 apartments. There is also parking in an attached garage and an array of amenities.
