Jeremy Schulman has been named Rockland County’s director of economic development and tourism, beginning today.
Schulman was previously president and CEO of the Rockland Economic Development Corp. (REDC) from November 2017 through May 2019. He was the economic development manager for the city of New Rochelle from September 2005 to October 2017. He replaces Lucy Redzeposki, who stepped down in April. He will receive an annual salary of $110,377.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day announced Schulman’s appointment and added that money previously budgeted to fund the REDC will now be reinvested in the Office of Economic Development and Tourism to further expand upon its efforts. The 2019 county budget will channel $316,000 to the REDC.
“Jeremy knows how to work with all these different entities towards the best interests of Rockland businesses and our residents,” Day said. “I look forward to working closely with him as we move closer to the bright future we all envision for this county.”
