Av Harris, who has served as Bridgeport’s legislative liaison with the state government for the last two years, is leaving Mayor Joe Ganim’s administration for a new role in Gov. Ned
Lamont’s administration as director of communications and legislative affairs for the Department of Public Health.
Harris came to Bridgeport in January 2016 as director of communications and became the city’s director of public affairs and public policy one year later. Prior to that, he was director of communications for the Connecticut Secretary of the State and had previously worked as a radio reporter for Hartford-based WNPR.
“Bridgeport is a terrific city that has unlimited potential,” said Harris. “I will continue to admire the progress being made to revitalize Bridgeport and the entire regional economy from afar; and I am glad I was able to play a small part in this success story.”
