The town of Fairfield is hosting a free sidewalk sale this weekend featuring more than 75 vendors as well as discounted menus at participating restaurants, live music and family entertainment.

The event officially begins on Saturday, July 23, and will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine. Some vendors will be offering discounted merchandise as soon as July 21.

Stretching along Post Road in downtown Fairfield from the Heritage Square Shopping Center to the Promenade at the Brick Walk, the event will include entertainment such as face painting, music acts at multiple sites, an inflatable bounce house and a preview performance of the Fairfield Teen Theatre Company’s upcoming show “Catch Me if You Can.”

A money machine will be on Sherman Green courtesy of New Canaan-based Bankwell bank, offering raffle winners a chance every half-hour to spend 30 seconds inside the booth and grab all the cash they can. Participants must grab at least $25 or as much as $50 in order for the money to be transferred into a Bankwell savings account.
