NBCUniversal teams with United Way for Stamford kids’ event

Executives and employees from NBCUniversal’s Stamford Media Center (SMC) will visit the town’s Toquam Magnet School for the seventh consecutive year on April 27 to read to students as part of The Volunteer Center of United Way of Western Connecticut’s annual “Business-to-Books” read-a-thon.

The initiative is designed to enhance public education through local businesses’ volunteer efforts. This spring, volunteers from such local companies as Deloitte, Greenwich Associates, Xerox, Legg Mason and General Electric with participate in read-a-thons at 12 elementary schools in Stamford, representing 2,800 children.
