The Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free seminar at 9 a.m. April 7 at Westport Town Hall on promoting Westport and the area as a tourist destination, as part of the state’s new tourism initiative.

Utilizing social media and a revamped CTVisit.com website that will be completely content-driven by venues, businesses and attractions in the state, the initiative includes buying advertisement from New York to Boston to promote Connecticut’s accessibility and array of attractions. The new site launched April 4.

Speaking at the seminar will be Felicia Lindau, vice president at marketing agency Adams & Knight, who is the lead consultant on social media to the state’s effort. Janet Serra, executive director of the CT Convention and Visitors Bureau will also speak. First Selectman of Westport Jim Marpe will give an opening address.

For more information and to register for the seminar, go to westportwestonchamber.com.
