ContraFect Corp., a biotechnology company based in Yonkers, has hired Natalie Bogdanos as general counsel.

“Natalie brings a wealth of in-depth legal experience across many areas of law including contract, intellectual property, licensing, regulatory, corporate governance and securities and litigation,” ContraFect CEO Julia P. Gregory said in a statement.

Prior to joining ContraFect, Bogdanos served as associate general counsel at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. She provided legal counsel and guidance to departments throughout the institution while having sole responsibility for the legal oversight of the center’s technology development office.

Bogdanos also previously served as general counsel at Enzo Biochem Inc., a publicly-traded biotechnology company based in Manhattan, from 2003 to 2012. There, she was responsible for leading the legal department, handling contracts and complex business development agreements, ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing litigation and managing Enzo’s portfolio of more than 500 patents and patent applications.

Bogdanos is a member of the New York State Bar Association and is also licensed to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the federal circuit and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
