New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy issued a joint statement yesterday pledging to work together to fight for federal aid in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
“When one of us suffers from a tragic event like Sandy, we all suffer,” Cuomo and Malloy said in their statement. “We have a responsibility as a region to push for federal investment, so that we can both get residents’ lives back to normal as quickly as possible following the storm.”
Combined, the two represent 23 million people.
